I'm not usually vulnerable about things like this, but if this supports, validates, affirms anyone else who's taking a stand against bullies to teach their little ones to stand up for themselves, by example, I'm happy to have shared. ❤️ Because what I Have noticed is that my daughter and I are being shunned due to this particular bully's gossip, because "we're making it awkward" by taking a stand and cutting them off. Interesting, that the bullying and gossip isn't awkward; just the well-boundaried response 🧐

Caring for others is important, but we really miss where compassion for others is born. A sense of duty and responsibility will never fuel “caring for others” like genuine love can. I really believe that, in early years—and this gets overlooked so often—we learn this when we learn, first, what care feels like within ourselves.
