Leonard Shlain (RIP), in his book The Alphabet versus the Goddess, highlights how visual beauty is always the first aspect of the feminine (right-brain) to be stripped by the masculine -- not the healthy masculine -- when a society becomes obsessed with its left-brain talents. Women are covered or shamed for their very sensuality. Art is destroyed. Music is banned. The list goes on. He points to the Spanish Inquisition, Witch hunts, the Greco-Roman reform of their religion to brutally remove the female as the bearers of life and today's main patriarchal religions that have also removed women as bearers of life.

If you're paying attention, today the term "motherhood" offends. Any enjoyment of physical beauty offends -- disguised as offence taken by society's narrow definition of beauty. To attribute femininity largely to women also offends. And yet, we see that the feminine is rising again, regardless…

Embracing Your Light and Your Shadow

but authenticity acknowledges your divine and your shadow...

God/Source/Universe isn't mad at any of us. Finally knowing what it is to be a parent... I understand that S/He can't be. 

I don't have religion per se anymore, but an overarching love of God and the source of all life and creation. I truly believe that God/Source/Universe loves us all and doesn't take sides, like many of our belief systems say s/he does. When you can face all of yourself, love all of yourself, you'll see. Your light and shadow are part of the same whole. They both just need to be understood. 

I am part Golden Goddess, part Dragon Queen, and they're both exquisitely beautiful. Who are you, really? You don't have to answer me, but answer yourself. 

As you step into that, you'll find that you'll stop keeping things in so much. At first perhaps a lot of "ugly" might start to spill out, but after years of repression settle, and the pendulum stops swinging, as awareness and #mindfulness take over, you'll find an ease and flow rhythm showing up in your thoughts, words and deeds. 

As you embrace all of yourself:

▪Health issues start to fade, because your body is free to function well.

▪You don't have to 'fight' cravings - or anything else, because there's no void or imbalance to compensate for.

▪You stop trying to defend or explain your position, as you'll starting see the right people leave/stay in your life, a natural ebb and flow happens. 

If you can get there, within your religion, atheism, agnosticism, wherever you are, as you release the fight, you'll find love everywhere. It's a process that's absolutely worth it.
